What is Software Testing?

Skills required for Software Testing Certification:
There are two sets of skills that you need to master or incorporate within yourself – Technical and Non – technical.
Non-technical Skills:
1. Analytical skills:
Gear up your analytical power. A complex software or program becomes easy to understand when you break it up into small and appropriate chunks. You can tackle them one by one and at the end of it all, you’ve worked with the entire complex software. All you have to do is analyse the right part at the right time.
2. A splendid attitude:
An attitude that reflects your enthusiasm to do anything and everything, an attitude that is capable enough to place problems over the table along with their solutions is needed. The right attitude shows your peers your willingness to work independently. It shows that no matter what, you can complete the task without demanding much supervision.
Technical skills:
1. Basic knowledge of Linux commands:
A number of applications, websites and databases are directly or indirectly based or dependent on Linux machines. Thus, to tackle all of them, you need to gain the basic knowledge.
2. Hands – on experience with automation tools:
One theory – if you can clearly imagine or envision yourself as an Automation tester in the years to come along with manual testing, you have gained a sufficient amount of hands – on experience for the same.
